RPM itself is now sufficiently advanced that it can take on all the
roles of composition group metadata. They would essentially be transformed
into metapackages. This has already happened on the SUSE side, where
their patterns are now just metapackages with Provides that the
package manager knows to work from.
Using metapackages or even the good old RPM Group tag could work, if
1. we actually ship this information in our packages, and
2. tools like Dnfdragora actually know how to use them. (Dnfdragora has
support for RPM Group tags, but I don't think it supports the SUSE
approach at this time, does it?)
Otherwise, let's please stick to what works (i.e., comps).
