wrinkle.
Perhaps we can get a show of hands of all the people who actually care
about Fedora on i586 systems...
My home router/firewall/IDS/DNS/DHCP/proxy/etc. box is a 6x86P90+ (128MB RAM)
that I've had for 10 years (and I bought it used).
Here's a thought: It would be very nice to have a kernel & glibc that would
work on this box so that I can run the distro and keep it updated. Of
course, if the set of kernels shipped with FC didn't include any pre-686
variants then I could just build my own. In that case, I want it to build
them from that same SRPM, if possible.
