I have a FC5test3 box, I did a yum update about a hundred packages were
updated including kernel-smp-2.6.15-1.1977_FC5.
With 1977, the system hangs on boot.
The last line printed on the screen is:
"Write protecting the kernel read-only data: 368k"
I believe this is the bug for it.

I can confirm this, I have a UP machine but I run the SMP kernel as it
tends to hit more bugs that way.
