Really .. instead wasting time on packaging stuff which is ~7 years old it
would be better to use that time to fix one of those handful packages which
Well the reason why it is 7 years old is there weren't any updates, so I
think we should expect a reasonable amount of time to pass before
upstreams transition.
Like I said earlier, for parted we're not going to change until 2.71 is
widely available, so I need something that either works with both or a
compatibility package.
So .. anyone knows any other packages dist sources trees on which
something
like "autoreconf -fiv" fails?
THIS is what I needed. I hadn't tried -i so I continued to get failures
when I worked on this a few weeks back. Adding -fiv did the trick and
parted-3.4-3.fc35 will work with 2.69 or 2.71 so I no longer need the
compatibility package, thanks.
I still think having 2.69 is necessary though, and we should revisit
convincing upstreams to use 2.71 after F36 or so.
