Probably could fall under my responsibility to periodically look at
the -testing updates that haven't yet been pushed to final. Maybe we could
eve automate this step...

Well, this predates that -- it was a serious security issue known internally
to Red Hat's security team way before the packages showed up in testing,
which was a week after the embargo was lifted.
I suppose this is a conversation for the Fedora Security list.
