My proposal is not about dropping the username from the command prompt nor
do I think that would be wise doing so in fact I would be against such an
proposal for the exact same reason I'm trying to have us switch to using
fqdn by default instead of using short hostnames.
I'm simply asking that we go from this...

I was replying to an email on the subject of dropping the \u
component, one I quoted in my previous email. I realise this wasn't
the original point of the thread (since I read things before I reply
to them).
