Libconcord just needs the device to be writeable by the current user
(it's kind of hard to program a remote you can't write to)
oh, that's right. I think I even reported that bug in the first place :)
(I remember only being able to use it as root before). Now I remember,
there's a
file /usr/share/PolicyKit/policy/org.freedesktop.hal.device-access.libconcord.policy which
goes along with it. I'm sure that should be easy to do in udev instead.
