Practically nobody uses network transparency in X, except some geeks
I must disagree. I'm watching several quite large deployments of linux
thin client setups in business now, as well as several government and a
lot of school deployments
X networking stuff went away because X terminals were weird and pricy,
the protocol wasnt secure and all X terminals sucked. Oh and because you
needed an expert to decipher some of the heiroglyphics in the manuals.
LTSP changed all that. It uses old PC hardware, it just works.
