I wonder if there are legal issues involved as the %changelog also list
all the person that worked on that spec file.
As for all project, in case of licensing changes, you need to know all
the authors that ever contributed to the project.
But again, IANAL :)
I see no legal issues with trimming a %changelog. We don't use that as a
commit tracking mechanism in any real way. :)
