Well, I quickly hacked the attached "prefdm" init script, based on /etc/
X11/prefdm. It starts at S26, after netfs, for people who have /home on
NFS. Don't have a stopwatch at hand but surely the login screen does
appear faster. It may not be much, but shaving a second here and another
there the bootup process could feel faster.

Unfortunately, you still need networking up before starting *DM since if
you don't, then your hostname can change and X gets verrryyy unhappy.
