I agree with that. The base X group also has TWM, how is XDM not of the same
kind (usable, but very basic and old)? Base X should really be the minimal X
and not include random parts of an arbitrary desktop environment, exactly
because there are two (actually more than two).
I like it too, but what if I install KDE later*, or what if I install
KDE at the beginning, then uninstall it too. Does it get downgraded
to GDM or XDM even if GNOME has been uninstalled.
* - I already do. Install 300+ rpms post-install because it is so
much easier to do it that way than at install time.
