I'm very certain that it's because libreoffice-writer (and more
importantly, what it pulls in) is much much larger than abiword, and
live CD ISOs are small.
Also, I think with the new compression on the Live images all the
spins
have the spare space for LibreOffice.
I'd love to see this actually happen. ;)
