My system was originally F24. So, which of these is the actual configuration
file at this point?
Upgrades didn't change how things are done. I think it may have been F29 or F30 when
authselect
was introduced and made the default method to manage nsswitch.conf.
FWIW, on this old system of mine I did just run
authselect select --force sssd
to bring it forward to the current practice.
