that's true
but usually you don't ./configure && make && make install for a i686
binary on a x86_64 machine since it's anyways a local build
Skip the "make install" part ... Also sometimes I do write code myself
that for whatever reason I have to give out as 32bit binary ... which
requires -devel packages when a library is used.
