Could you bugzilla, CC me and attach the output of /proc/modules and
/proc/bus/input/devices. Also attach your X86Config.
I suspect there is something obscure and undocumented
about these older touchpads that could possibly be used in order to
actually interface with its functionality, but it cannot be detected.
If you can get me more information I can have a look. You can also add debug
into i8042.c, but I'd like to try and reproduce your issues.
haven't spent a lot of time experimenting with forcing the driver
to
skip detection yet so I don't know.
NP. Though my gut feeling is this is best for FC2 test1. Once it's released I'll
try and write up a faq for synaptics users.
