Actually, I figured out a solution myself: You have to provide a showfiles link
with both a group_id and a package_id, e.g.:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2917&package_id...
instead of the previously used:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/z88dk
format which redirects to just:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2917
which brings up the "simplified" layout which hides all the important
information.
Ugh, I didn't realise it was this complicated ... Unfortunately a lot
of these MinGW packages are hosted on SourceForge. Is the (draft)
policy below still correct?
