What's wrong with xcdroast? Works both in Gnome and KDE without
noticable
startup-delay and is shipped in Fedora Core.
Don't miss to diss the xcdroast authors, but it really has one of worst
GUIs i've ever seen.
There's also gcdmaster (for audio CDs), but we haven't had time to work
on it in a while....
