Well, distros other than Fedora don't use yum. But apart from that you

No, its more similar to my .install idea a few weeks back, which
everyone killed because "it sounds like Windows installer. GO AWAY!".
Never metion GUI ideas in such a proposal...
BTW, would this format be capable of providing multiple repos for
multiple distros/distro versions?
