RFC: Disabling blinking cursor by default
by Matthew Garrett
The blinking cursor causes the processor and GPU to be woken up
frequently. On one of my test systems, this causes somewhere in the
region of 2 Watts of extra power consumption. I'd like to change the
default for this to false. Anyone have any objections?

eclipse-phpeclipse maintainer
by Basil Mohamed Gohar
I'm sorry if this is the wrong purpose for this list, but I have a
question for the maintainer of the eclipse-phpeclipse package for
Fedora, and I do not know how to get their contact information. Could
someone either inform me how I could do this or could the maintainer
themselves please contact me? Thank you in advance!

Announcing Fedora 11 Alpha (blink)
by Jesse Keating
To blink or not to blink: that is the question;
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous users,
Or to take arms against a see of power drains.
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more: and by a sleep to say we suspend.
Ok enough of that. The Fedora project is proud to present the
availability of Fedora 11 (Leonidas) Alpha. Now is the time to test,
now is the time to improve.
The Alpha release provides the first opportunity for the wider community
to become involved with testing Fedora 11 by way of Rawhide:
Alpha represents a sanitized snapshot of rawhide, Fedora's development
branch, which undergoes rapid changes before becoming the next major
release.
* The Alpha should boot on the majority of systems, and provides:
* A look at what new features are to be included in the
next release
* A way to provide feedback and bug reports to help ensure
that the next release is as good as possible
For information about what new and wonderful things Alpha brings us,
please check out the release notes:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_11_Alpha_release_notes
What to test
Test status is being tracked here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Fedora_11_Alpha_Install_Test_Results
Check out this page before reporting problems, including looking through
the bug trackers as linked on that page.

New package from one source
by Pavel Alexeev (aka Pahan-Hubbitus)
Recently future request for itk apache mpm was declined [1] by
maintainer of apache (Joe Orton (jorton(a)redhat.com)). Please see bug for
details.
As was mentioned in there discussion I want package it and push to
Fedora (it is open source and maintained). So, main question - is it
normal situation have second package (I intend call it like apache-itk)
with one source, which used in other rpm (apache) in repository? Is
really there any legal issues or etc.?
I think is most correct way is to so-maintain it in main apache package,
but this suggestion also was declined. So, what is correct way to
package and push to Fedora additional apache MPM?

Oh well. The point is that they can lend their infrastructure for
building updates.

That's a good idea. I will try to get in touch with the RPMFusion
group to see if we can share some resources on this.

Changing name of ISO checksum file
by Jesse Keating
As part of the Sha-256 feature[1], we need to change the SHA1SUM file
that has accompanied ISOs that Fedora produces for years. This isn't
the first time it has changed, it used to be MD5SUMS. This likely won't
be the last time it changes, however I think it would be prudent of us
to pick something this time that won't require a file name change, just
a format change.
A suggestion has been made already [2], but since this effects install
iso creation (pungi), live media creation (livecd-creator, but manual
creation of checksums), docs, release notes, announcements, etc.. I'd
like to get a few opinions on the matter.
Personally I'd prefer to keep any boilerplate out of the file itself,
leaving it just for the checksums, and instead have the directions on
how to use that included in docs/announcements/wiki/etc.
My questions are, does anybody actually care how we change it, so long
as its documented properly?
If you do care, I would appreciate your opinions.

Why are updates processed so slowly?
by Christoph Wickert
I built a package last Friday. Update was created Fri 21:33 and is has
been pushed to testing today at 3:20.
So why did it take more than 5 days or 122 hrs to get it pushed? Are
security-updates also processed that slowly?

Christoph

What is the state of bulez4?
by Paulo Cavalcanti
Hi,
since I started using F10 in my main computer, I have
not been able to pair a single bluetooth device,
either using bluez-gnome or hidd.
This computer still has F8 installed on another disk,
and using F8, I have no problem at all.
This ubuntu bug report is the closest to my problems
I could find:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/268502
I upgraded to bluez 4.28, but not has changed.
Any suggestion?
Thanks.

papyrus license change
by Rick L. Vinyard, Jr.
GPLv3 to LGPLv3
Since there are no dependencies and this is a more permissive license I
don't think there are any issues.
