abrt / kernel oops issue
by Nathanael D. Noblet
Hello,
I've been running F12/rawhide from a preupgrade from F11 for a couple
weeks now. I've just recently noticed the abrt feature. I started
submitting the bugs it found in the kerneloops. Which has me wondering
couple things.
#1 - I have many many kerneloops, each stacktrace/log snippet seems
fairly identical. I assume you would prefer not to get 20 identical abrt
submitted bugs? Or should I submit them all?
#2 - When looking at the trace it has the following line(s):
Nov 10 09:15:57 iridium kernel: WARNING: at lib/list_debug.c:30
__list_add+0x68/0x81() (Tainted: G W )
...
Nov 10 09:15:57 iridium kernel: Pid: 2197, comm: Xorg Tainted: G
W 2.6.31.5-127.fc12.x86_64 #1
I'm wondering why it is saying it is tainted.. or maybe Tainted: G mean
Good?? I don't have any closed source modules loaded as far as I know.
Unless Virtualbox is closed source but I didn't think it was. Virtualbox
isn't running when this happens, though the module seems to be loaded.
#3 Validity of the bugs it is finding... It calls the following a
kerneloops...

do I submit this anyway?
Thanks, just rying to do my part without burying you guys in senseless
bug reports.

abrt bugzilla reporting - does it work?
by Christoph Höger
Hi,
I just wanted to report an evolution crash report with abrt. All I get
(besides a stacktrace) is "libcurl failed HTTP Post".
Since I suspect that libcurl generally can handle HTTP posts, I wonder
if this is some general bug in abrt?
Did anybody submit bugs successfully using this tool?
regards
Christoph

Broken deps for rawhide the past few days
by Jesse Keating
Many of you received emails over the weekend and this morning regarding
broken deps in rawhide. If these emails mentioned that the deps were
broken on ppc or ppc64 they can be ignored. We are no longer producing
ppc/ppc64 as a primary arch, however we forgot to tag the config change
that enacted this on our compose tools. We were attempting to compose
ppc(64) trees with only noarch packages, and well things didn't work so
hot.
We should have this fixed today so that future emails about broken deps
will be about actual broken deps, not broken configurations. Sorry for
the mailbombing.

A 64-bit EFI image should work on a MacBook4,1 . A 32-bit EFI image
won't.

Status of maven 2.2.1 update in rawhide
by Deepak Bhole
Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the cross-list posting, but the matter is of interest to both
lists afaict, as I have seen messages related to maven on both.
As some of you might know, we intend to put maven 2.2.1 in rawhide. The
new maven will be a completely re-written rpm, one that should be a lot
easier to maintain, and much more stable. All progress related to this
upgrade is now on the wiki:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/MavenUpdate
Updates/new packages for dependencies will be a significant effort. Once
we (Andrew Overholt, Alexander Kurtakov and myself) start work on that, we
will need all the help we can get :) So if you are interested in helping,
or just tracking progress -- that is the page to subscribe to/check out!
I'll send one more mail to this list when work on dependencies starts.
Cheers,
Deepak
