Xfce SIG meeting!
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
We would like to try and get together interested folks for the first
Xfce SIG meeting, sometime next week on irc.freenode.net in the
#fedora-meeting channel.
Please see:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate/FedoraMeetingChannel
for when available times are for the #fedora-meeting channel.
If interested parties could mail me their preferred times for meeting,
I can schedule a meeting time for next week. Note that I will be out on
vacation next week, but should have net and be able to meet anyhow.
Possible topics for the meeting:
- Going over the list of outstanding Xfce bugs
- Talking about plans for F10 cycle
- Further integration efforts for themes/icons
- Xfce spin changes/wishlists
Thanks!
kevin

obsoleting -selinux subpackages
by Michael Thomas
In an earlier F-? release, I had added a cyphesis-selinux subpackage
which added selinux protection to the cyphesis game server. This policy
has now been added to the selinux-policy-targeted package, and I need to
have cyphesis-selinux removed. There are two places where this can be
done safely, afaik:
(a) Add 'Obsoletes: cyphesis-selinux' to the cyphesis base package
(b) Add 'Obsoletes: cyphesis-selinux' to the selinux-policy-targeted
package
I'm tempted to go with (a) because it keeps us from having to add many
Obsoletes: tags to the selinux policy packages as the -selinux
subpackage get merged in.
Is (a) an acceptable solution?

cdparanoia III 10 license change
by Adam Jackson
cdparanoia 10 is GPLv3 and LGPLv3. This is a change from 9.8.
Affected components:
atropine:~% rpm -q --provides cdparanoia-libs | while read i junk ; do
repoquery --qf="%{name}\n" --whatrequires $i ; done | sort -u
bmpx
cdparanoia
cdparanoia-debuginfo
cdparanoia-devel
cdparanoia-libs
grip
gstreamer-plugins-base
kaffeine
kdemultimedia-libs
Of these, bmpx and kdemultimedia-libs claim to be v2-only. My reading
of the compatibility matrix is that you can't link to a LGPLv3 library
from GPLv2 code. gstreamer-plugins-base only claims to be LGPL in the
License tag. It appears to be LGPLv2.1 accordig to the license text,
and my reading of the compat matrix is that linking to LGPLv3 from
LGPLv2 is okay. The cdparanoia source plugin is explicitly LGPLv2+.
<ajax> whoowns bmpx
<zodbot> bmpx is owned by akahl
<ajax> whoowns kdemultimedia
<zodbot> kdemultimedia is owned by than
<ajax> fas akahl
<zodbot> akahl 'Alexander Kahl' <akahl(a)iconmobile.com>
<ajax> fas than(a)redhat.com
<zodbot> than 'Than Ngo' <than(a)redhat.com>
If this is you, either your License tag is broken, or your package is
about to be.

Packaging issues with files section for my future coq package
by Alan Dunn
I'm trying to package the Coq theorem proving system.
My goal is to create a main package with the system and then a
subpackage for the (optional) IDE. I've written out a spec file, and
it does compile (that is, I can generate rpms with "rpmbuild -bb
SPECS/coq.spec"), but this process generates quite a number of "file
listed twice" warnings that I would like to eliminate like:
warning: File listed twice: /usr/lib/coq/contrib
warning: File listed twice: /usr/lib/coq/contrib.cma
warning: File listed twice: /usr/lib/coq/contrib.cmxa
warning: File listed twice: /usr/lib/coq/contrib/field
warning: File listed twice: /usr/lib/coq/contrib/field
warning: File listed twice: /usr/lib/coq/contrib/field/LegacyField.vo
warning: File listed twice: /usr/lib/coq/contrib/field/LegacyField.vo
warning: File listed twice: /usr/lib/coq/contrib/field/LegacyField.vo
...
(the duplicated warnings are listed multiple times in the output, as
are many files)
I thought that somehow things could've gone wrong in the files list
that I generate to use in the %files section via:
find %{buildroot}%{_libdir}/coq -fprint coqlibfiles
sed -i -e "s|%{buildroot}||" coqlibfiles
cat coqlibfiles >> coqfiles
but none of the files are duplicated in the coqfiles file
%files -f coqfiles

strange koji build failures...?
by Eric Sandeen
Trying to get newer ecryptfs-utils built I'm seeing something odd (or
not seeing something obvious...)
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=643262&name=build.log
for things like this in the specfile:
%doc README COPYING AUTHORS NEWS THANKS
I'm getting this sort of failure:
Executing(%doc): /bin/sh -e /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.27877
+ umask 022
+ cd /builddir/build/BUILD
+ cd ecryptfs-utils-46
+
DOCDIR=/var/tmp/ecryptfs-utils-46-0.fc10-root-mockbuild/usr/share/doc/ecryptfs-utils-46
+ export DOCDIR
+ rm -rf
/var/tmp/ecryptfs-utils-46-0.fc10-root-mockbuild/usr/share/doc/ecryptfs-utils-46
+ /bin/mkdir -p
/var/tmp/ecryptfs-utils-46-0.fc10-root-mockbuild/usr/share/doc/ecryptfs-utils-46
+ cp -pr README COPYING AUTHORS NEWS THANKS
/var/tmp/ecryptfs-utils-46-0.fc10-root-mockbuild/usr/share/doc/ecryptfs-utils-46
cp: preserving times for
`/var/tmp/ecryptfs-utils-46-0.fc10-root-mockbuild/usr/share/doc/ecryptfs-utils-46/README'
: No such file or directory
...
I'm not sure what to make of this... Any suggestions to debug (if it's
not an obvious thing that I'm missing?)
Thanks,
-Eric

[Help] About check out package from CVS
by Hao Liu
Hi,
I'm running into a problem when I tried to check out package from the
repository,
I followed the steps given in
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/Join#Install_the_Client_...,
no luck.
I tried:
$cvs co /package-name/
/ /error messages:
*Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive).**
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above
messages if any)
*
were given out.
Additional info:
1. rpm -q cvs
cvs-1.11.22-13.fc9.i386
2. echo $CVSROOT
:ext:hliu@cvs.fedoraproject.org:/cvs/package-name
3. echo $CVS_RSH
ssh
Any help will be greatly appreciated, :-)
All the best,
Hao Liu

koji broken?
by Dhaval Giani
Hi,
I just checked out my package, checked in the srpm, tagged it and built
it. The build is for dist-f10 as my koji screen says, but it gets tagged
as dist-fc7. Expected?
More details at
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=6291
A side question, how long does it take from build for it to propogate
into rawhide?
Thanks
