- Import directly from ISO
Instead of mounting an ISO, then importing the tree, then un-mounting
the ISO just directly import from the ISO itself. I don't think this is
in there yet, and should be easy to implement. This is just me being
lazy and not wanting to mount and unmount ;-)
We were talking the other day in IRC about making this the only officially
supported method in order to cut down on the number of support issues we
have related to import. People have a tendency to abuse import, so pushing
for them to use known good media for importing would make life easier for
everyone. I think we should keep the other methods, but when someone has
issues with importing from directories of files or rsync/http sites or
using --available-as we should nudge them towards using official ISO's.
An added benefit to this is we could keep a list of known good md5's in a
settings file (for easy updating), and present a warning for users if
they're using a non-standard (self-rolled, re-spin or otherwise) ISO.
