We have an experimental version of beaker-system-scan for RHEL7 using
lshw, it's already available in the harness repos. I believe it's
working successfully on aarch64 and POWER8, which were the main
motivations for the lshw work.
Hi Dan,
As recently as two weeks ago we had to open a RT ticket to get P8 inventoried.
https://engineering.redhat.com/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=339553
From what the ticket said it was done manually(I could have mis-read
that).
We are still planning to go back and get it fully up to scratch on
x86_64 so that we can switch over it to completely -- but that's
a fairly low priority now that aarch64 and POWER8 are working.
Jeff, was there some particular fix/feature in the inventory data which
you were looking for?
Hi Dan,
Kernel hardware development team is adding new drivers and the kernel
hardware admin team is adding hardware to systems in Beaker. Not 100%
sure of the development cycle. But typically it will go into RHEL7 first
then potentially back ported to RHEL6. I want to ensure that we have it
inventoried properly that is all.
Regards,
Jeff
