Hello List,
I have couple of problems implementing beaker. When I submit the job It always remains in queue I am able to provision the server and submit the jobs I am attaching the jobs xml file and the ks-xxx file
Further I am getting the errors in server.log file is it the cause of the problem?

rhts-wizard query
by Sunil_Gupta2@Dell.com
Hello List,
I created a test case using rhts-wizard which installed the package /mnt/tests/Performance/vim-test but the test remains queued, no errors in server.log or in watchdog.log or in proxy.log
Any pointers will be helpful.

Sunil

change mailing address title for beaker-devel-list
by Chris Ward
Hi! Not terribly important, and maybe it's just me, but i think this
list's mail name could be made a little shorter... currently it's set as:
"List for the development of the Beaker project" <beaker-devel(a)lists.fedorahosted.org>
Perhaps something like this could work?
"Beaker Project Development" <beaker-devel(a)lists.fedorahosted.org>
or
"Beaker Development" <beaker-devel(a)lists.fedorahosted.org>
or
"Beaker Project List" <beaker-devel(a)lists.fedorahosted.org>
?

Bug in osversion.trigger
by Alexander Todorov
Hello folks,
I finally found the culprit of not being able to successfully import a distro in
Beaker. (kudos to Raymond Mancy who told me where to look).
This code snippet in osversion.trigger get_paths() is wrong:
79 found = None
80 while kerneldir != os.path.dirname(tree_path):
81 for x in signatures:
82 d = os.path.join( kerneldir, x)
83 if os.path.exists( d ):
84 found = True
85 break
86 if found:
87 break
88 kerneldir = os.path.dirname(kerneldir)
89
90 return dict( tree_path = tree_path,
91 path = path,
92 package_path = os.path.join(tree_path ,x))
tree_path is .../rhel-server-5.6-x86_64/
kerneldir is .../rhel-server-5.6-x86_64/images/pxeboot/vmlinuz
The while loop starts iterating. In my case it will iterate 3 times. found will
always be False because we try to search for meaningful repos under the
kerneldir (e.g. Server, Client, etc.) and of course repos are not there.
Then as the last step in the loop we update the kerneldir variable and seek one
level up in the directory structure. But when we finally have kerneldir ==
tree_path the loop exits. (i.e. we never have a chance to find the signature repos).
found is None and x is Client (the last element in the signatures array).
Thus the function returns wrong result. As consequence osversion.trigger will
try to decide which distro is this by looking for
.../rhel-server-5.6-x86_64/Client/redhat-release* which is not present.
Changing line 82 to something like:
d = os.path.join( os.path.dirname(tree_path), x)
helps and distros were imported in cobbler successfully (they were present in
the webUI).
However looping through several directories up to the tree root is meaningless
IMHO. The files/directories that we try to find (the signatures elements) are
always under the tree_path directory and one or two levels above the kerneldir.
I'm not sure how to best fix this issue. Please advise.
This is with beaker-lab-controller-0.6.8-5.el5

Beaker and PostgreSQL
by Alexander Todorov
Hi all,
what databases does Beaker support? I had the impression that it should support
MySQL and PostgreSQL to name a few but with Postgre I keep getting errors.
When you import a distro in Cobbler and then run the osversion.trigger script on
the beaker-server I get this error:

add explicit type casts.

by Xiao, Hui
Hi,
Not sure my last mail has been posted successfully so I send it again :-)
Do any people get the same error with the new repo as I got?
Thanks,

Beaker 0.6.8 upgrade notes updated
by Dan Callaghan
Dear list,
This mail is only relevant to you if you are using Beaker server and
have upgraded to version 0.6.8 prior to 12 April (that is, using
versions 0.6.8-1 through 0.6.8-4).
Yesterday we discovered a problem with the server upgrade notes for
version 0.6.8, resulting in gaps in the data in the new
system_status_duration table. We have released version 0.6.8-5 with the
upgrade notes amended. However, if you have already upgraded to version
0.6.8 (using 0.6.8-4 or earlier), you will need to repeat the section of
the notes entitled "Populate the system_status_duration table". Execute
"TRUNCATE TABLE system_status_duration;" first. An outage is required.
To verify that there are no problems with the data in the
system_status_duration table, you can execute the following two queries.
They should both produce no results.
SELECT * FROM system
WHERE NOT EXISTS
(SELECT 1 FROM system_status_duration
WHERE system_status_duration.system_id = system.id
AND system_status_duration.start_time = system.date_added);
SELECT * FROM system_status_duration
WHERE finish_time IS NOT NULL
AND NOT EXISTS
(SELECT 1 FROM system_status_duration i
WHERE i.system_id = system_status_duration.system_id
AND i.start_time = system_status_duration.finish_time);
If you have any questions, please reply to the list or find us on IRC.
