Hi, all,
Sorry to trouble you, but I would like join the automation team to
develop some tool for Fedora QA sub project. From Feodra wiki website, I
have known that there already some tools, such as SNAKE, Bodhi and
Beaker. Could you please show me dome detail of above project's process?
Thanks.
No trouble at all! Great to hear from you.
Now I'm a HP software engineer in China and like Linux very much.
I'm
familiar with Linux and Perl/Python/Shell programming for system admin.
Similarly the project I'm working on is also develop an automation
framework for testing HP product. Hope I can make some contribution to
Fedora project, because I'm now using Fedora for daily desktop
workstation.
Again I'm here to ask for some advice on howto join Fedora QA automation
step by step. First I decide to do some research on Beaker/RHTS.
Is there any work I can do for Beaker?
Plenty! :-)
One area that could of great help is creating a live inventory image
that could be pxe booted. Right now we use some smolt code, some
anaconda code and some of our own code to report what is in a test
system. This works but it only runs from RHEL5 because of the
requirement on anaconda. If we could remove the anaconda requirement
then it could be made to work under Fedora10 as a live image.
I'll commit the current ugly client code we have now to beakers git Today.
Does this sound like something you could tackle? Skills required would
be python, rpm knowledge, kickstart foo. :-)
Thanks,
Ray
