Good day all,
With Fedora 21 Beta being released on November 4, 2014 (next
Tuesday), I'd like to update the installer script we offer[1], adding
support for some additional boards. The most recent version of the
installer script already includes support for:
- Bananapi - beaglebone - Cubietruck - panda - trimslice -
wandboard_dual - wandboard_quad - wandboard_solo
Adding support for a new board is very easy. Just add a minimal
(bash) scriptlet to the 'boards.d' directory with the command(s)
needed to write the board-specific setup, such as U-Boot. In many
cases this is just a single command.
For the Cubieboard2, I just copied the Cubietruck file to a Cubieboard2
file. In the installer.sh I did add:
# change cubieboard2 target to uppercase
if [ "$TARGET" = "cubieboard2" ]; then
TARGET="Cubieboard2"
fi
Which again is just a copy of what you do for the Cubietruck. Perhaps
someone cleverer than I would simplify this. In fact, you might
generalize this, making them all uppercase and allowing lowercase input...
Then I thought there might be someway to do this with a single script
file, but perhaps once Hans gets the WiFi working for the CT (and other
things CT has that CB2 does not), it could result in a different install
than for the CB2 anyway.
I did bring a CB2 along with me and I hope tonight (Central Time) I will
be able to run a test with Beta-RC4.
