Yes, they consider it a feature to reduce clutter in your inbox. It's
why I don't use gmail for mailing lists. They seem to have, as far as I
can tell, simply ignored the MANY requests for it to be an option,
rather than a "feature" that you can't turn off at will.
There may be some way around it, if you only use their web interface,
with labels--I vaguely remember a friend from a BSD list and I trying
something, but he was using webmail.
