x86_64 live CD F7T4
by Jim Bevier
I used Bittorrent to download the x86_64 live CD. It turns out to be 778mb
and K3B says it is too big to burn for a CD. It will also not allow a DVD
to be used. So how can I use the iso image to test? How do I burn it?

k3b sees/does not see other cd drive
by Antonio Olivares
Dear all,
I am running rawhide and followup on thread where k3b does not recognize the other cd drive. I have found a way for fedora to recognize the drive. By putting in a data cd, fedora recognizes the drive and both drives show up on k3b. If the cd drive is empty, then only one drive is show.
Without CD inside drive, k3b returns

F7T4: Problems with recognized soundcard (no pcm device)
by Guido Ledermann
Hello,
since F7Test4 I have problems with my soundcard. It is recognized as CIA
VT7120/24. The module is snd-ice1724. It seems that is because there is
no pcm device available. That's what it says within the "configure
soundcard" - ui. When I tell it to reload the sound driver and rewrite
configuration files, it works fine. but it doesn't sho any pcm device at
all.
So, whenever I start an application like rhythmbox, it crashes.
Any hints? Any links to bugzilla?

Help Market Linux
by Brian C. Huffman
All,
I apologize in advance b/c I know it's not usually good list etiquette to advertise on a list, but I know that we all love linux (I would hope so) and one of the greatest challenges to getting linux "out there" is that most people don't know about it. Marketing for OpenSource isn't easy.
To get on with the point, there's a group of linux users / advocates out of Indiana that are trying to have linux as a sponsor for a car in the Indianapolis 500 this year. Depending on the amount of money that is raised, it could be the minor associate, associate, major associate or primary sponsor of a car. These then decide how often and how large the linux logo (tux) appears on the car.
If this sounds like a worthwhile contribution to you, you can read more and donate here: http://tux500.com.

F7T4 PPC installs fine, but won't boot
by John Poelstra
Disclaimer: This was my first PPC install.
I was just given an old Apple G4 w/ approx 200 meg of RAM.
I successfully booted from the ppc boot.iso and did an NFS install.
When it came to partitioning the disk I selected to remove ALL
partitions and then selected the default LVM partition layout and all
the other bootloader defaults, etc.
The install completed successfully and I rebooted.
When the box comes up all i get is a folder in the middle of the screen
with a flashing question mark.
I assume this is a bug, however is there anything else I should
consider? I have looked on Google without any luck.
Thanks,
John
