FC7T4 Install Failure(SCSI READ ERRORS)
by Sean Bruno
Sorry for the late install folks, I know this is T4 and I should have
gotten around to this sooner. It's been a while since I've had some
time to use a test release(I'm not sure where FC7T4 bugs go in bugzilla
even!).
Not sure why I would get these errors on install, and I'm not quite sure
if they are from my hard drives or my CDROM. I _assume_ that this is a
CDROM drive read failing. I have a Sony DVD Burner, model DRU-800A.
The system is a dual-opteron running on the ASUS K8N-DL mobo and runs
FC6 x86_64 just fine.
Using the x86_64 DVD ISO, I attempted to install. The following errors
are the last display on my console after I skip the media check in
anaconda. After selecting skip, I see an error message about anaconda
being terminated.

yum repos?
by Knute Johnson
Which repos are we supposed to use now? I read something when it
went by that F7test was going to change? I can't seem to update or
install any new programs. I will admit that I did play with the
enabled bits and have forgotten which ones :-).
Thanks,

BZ 2398890: gnome-panel crash/restart on second screen setting properties
by G.Wolfe Woodbury
See BZ 239889 for full details.
Basically, it's impossible to change the color of the panel backgrounds
on the second screen of a dual-head setup. The panel crashes and restarts
every time, top or bottom panel, on the second screen (screen1) and works
reliably on screen0.

Broadcom wireless not working?
by Martin Sourada
Hi all,
I've been today trying to get my wireless working, but probably with no success.
Maybe I am doing something wrong... The problem is that he wireless card is
found [1] and after I installed firmware and disabled old driver it even seems
it works [2], BUT it is NOT listed in system-config-network under devices. Eth1
network interface (that was its name in FC6) is missing. What can be problem?
Also, when I tried F7T2 LiveCD there was an applet on the panel for connecting
wireless networks, however when I installed F7T4 from DVD there is no such
applet even available. Does anyone know where can I find it (i.e. in which package)?
Thanks,
Martin

Problems with resume after suspend to disc (motherboard fans not work)
by José Abílio Matos
Hi all,
I am using rawhide with the latest kernel but this has been happening since
FC6, although I did never had time to report the bug (I think).
My laptop is a HP Compaq nx8220, everytime that I hibernate when I resume the
computer the laptop funs do not work. The result is that the temperature
raises and sometimes the cpu shutsdown with the indication that the critical
temperature (105 C) has been reached. If I restart the computer the
motherboard fans start again in the highest possible speed and the computer
returns to normal.
Is there any possible solution to avoid this problem?
Should I report this to bugzilla? If so which data should be filled?
Regards,

F7 test4 - ugly login - or is it me? :)
by Valent Turkovic
Hi,
IMHO the GDM theme on Fedora 7 test 3 was much more user-friendly and
looked nicer than one I see in Fedora 7 test 4. The theme hasn't
changed but the icon for "face browser" had. Not beside user name
there is some strange icon with a question mark on the face which
looks odious to me.
It doesn't look inviting, and doesn't give me the welcome feeling that
a login page should be about.
And comments? Or is it just me? :)

Kernel support for older cards
by Anne Wilson
I have been told that from 2.6.20 the kernel no longer supports some older
cards, and Zoran was one of the cards/chipsets mentioned. Can someone please
tell me what the situation is? At the moment I'm sticking with
2.6.19-1.2911.6.5.fc6
Thanks

f7t4 plus updates minor things i've noticed.
by Skunk Worx
1) arg parsing. the "flex" command seems to require args like "-i -s"
now rather than "-is".
2) xcdroast complains that there is a permissions error on
/usr/bin/cdrecord for some reason. Won't start at all.
3) Seems like the default look and feel is no longer bluecurve.
4) Gnome moved the terminal around in the menus again.
Seems pretty good so far.

Time problem F7t4?
by Knute Johnson
I have a time problem. The clock is set correctly and displays in
the desktop applet correctly. The timezone is correct. If I run a
Java program the time is off an hour (Java is earlier).
Any ideas where to look?
Thanks,
