Tag requests for F10
by Jesse Keating
I just adjusted the build targets so all F10 builds are getting tagged
with 'dist-f10-updates-candidate'. This puts them in the right place
for F10 updates. If we get a request to break freeze for a build, the
proper thing to do (once all acks are obtained) is move the build from
dist-f10-updates-candidate over to dist-f10, and then tag the build with
f10-final. This will ensure it'll show up in buildroots, plus that it's
tagged for the release.
'koji move-pkg --force dist-f10-updates-candidate dist-f10 <build>'
'koji tag-pkg --force f10-final <build>'

I just cvs removed it from the F-9 and devel branches. It needs to
blocked from F-8, F-9, and devel (I think the latter two are already
done but it still exists in F-8 where nspluginwrapper exists and solves
the problem).

I'm the owner of the ume-launcher package which isn't building in rawhide
and causing dependency problems for some people. Upstream have renamed the
package and the new version is fixed, but pending the new review the best
solution seems to be to remove ume-launcher from rawhide.

The content needs to be fully staged by Oct. 24th in order to release by
Nov. 4th.
Make sure top level release directory permissions are 700 during initial
sync, 750 for mirror sync.

This will take a while so it should be started before the freeze, at least
with caching signatures. The actual writeout can happen just before or at
freeze point, and then all additional tagging would have to have a signing
and writing done as well.

Fwd: An offer to quickly seed torrents.
by Chris Halsall
Hello Jesse et al.
But, with respect, let me please argue that just because the source
torrents are the least popular, doesn't mean they're the least
important.
For example, you currently have 27 people trying to download the DVD
ISO, and nine trying to download the CD ISOs. These have been seeding
for several days now, and are still expected to take another day, and
another three days, respectively.
I am offering 40000 kb/s of bandwidth to serve these, along with any
other Fedora torrents you'd like distributed.
Again, I am offering. Are you interested?
I'd be happy to sit on an IRC channel, and will monitor when I can.
Or, if you can send me an e-mail with an FTP/HTTP/RSYNC path to access
these files when they become available, I'd be more than happy to
assist.
Please advise.
Thanks and regards.
-Chris

An offer to quickly seed torrents.
by Chris Halsall
Hello.
Mike McGrath suggested I contact you here on an offer to help seed the
Fedora torrents.
I have been a regular Fedora user for years now, and as a way of
contributing back, I try to seed torrents. This is partially because
I've noticed that, particularly the "source" CDs and DVDs, are seeded
extremely slowly by 152.46.7.220.
In the past I have downloaded the source ISOs, and then join the
torrents to seed. However, this time I noticed that the
Fedora-10-Snap2-source-CDs and -DVDs files were not available by way
of FTP (or, at least, I wasn't able to find them).
I have two servers which have a great deal of extra bandwidth, which
I'd be happy to use to seed these files. (74.208.102.7 and
38.99.65.88 are seeding right now.)
Would you be interested in this? If so, how might I have HTTP, FTP or
RSYNC access to these and future files? Or, would there be a way to
give preference to these machines through the torrent (as in, give
these two machines preferential and higher bandwidth)? Or, I could
create an FTP account for you to push the files to me.
Please let me know. Right now the ...source-CDs are expected to take
yet another couple of days to complete. In my mind, the sources are
the best thing to get into the hands of capable users.
Thanks and regards.
-Chris
P.S. If required, I would sign a document ensure I didn't "leak" the
files in any way. As in, I would only torrent through your regular
tracker.

Release Notes heads-up
by Paul W. Frields
Jesse, et al. --
Be on the lookout for slight changes in the release notes package.
Content has changed somewhat while we try to maneuver our tools closer
to using the publican tool. We will probably not make that target for
F10, but the changes we have made are subtle:
* Names of documents may have changed from
e.g. RELEASE-NOTES-en_US.html => Release_Notes-en-US.html.
* To be safe, you may want to have any tools that copy content for use
on our released spins check for both "en-US" and "en_US" in the
appropriate places.

So far I have one positive and no negative vote. If I agreed to the
Dimitris suggestion, will I get another +1 then? I really _need_ a
decision _now_ because my feature is finished (for 10 days now) and I
still want it to get into F10 before final feature freeze (scheduled for
October 28th).
Please give me more feedback, ether positive or negative.
TIA,
Christoph
