"12 words" != generation seed it is your paperkey much like how keybase
uses them, in short its your last ditch account / wallet recovery step.
It is generally only ever used if you forget your password/phrase AND
don't have another 2nd factor token / mechanism in place or if your are
unfortunate enough to have that even be invalidated by some other stroke
of misfortune.
