fedora-devel-list,
Linus announced kernel 2.6.6 today, will it be integrated into Fedora Core 2 ? I've found many valuable bug-fixes in the new release.

Probably not. It is too late for FC2 release to change the kernel. However, it probably doesn't matter much since the kernel that FC2 does have is based on 2.6.6-rc3, with all of those fixes in there.
An update to FC2 could possibly have 2.6.6 or later.

Seems pretty obvious, especially if the final FC2 kernel does ship with firewire support disabled :-(

Most of these fixes are already incorporated in one form or another in 2.6.5-1.358, which is very likely to be the final kernel for FC2.

Does it mean there will be no way to install fc2 on any asus p4p800 mobo? Please see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=121819. I can confirm the problem persists with the 2.6.5-1.358 kernel. However, the smp kernel boots without problems.

Yes unfortunately. We have as of yet figured out what is wrong with those particular motherboards.
