Device: Pinephone or any other touch only device
Starting GParted results in Root-Auth-request, which is not possible to answere:

Easy to get, impossible to answere :) even if the keyboard was fully reachable, the requestor pulls all inputs to itself. Caribu does not get any touch.
This is not usually the case, as I have had several auth request over the last week, but this one for gparted must come from another source.
As this request is generated by pk and the keyboard is from gnome, I have no idea whom to blame :)
Does anyone have an idea?

I tested this in Fedora 33 by enabling the Screen Keyboard accessibility setting. The screen keyboard works fine for me: it can receive mouse input just fine.
So maybe this is fixed in Fedora 33? I am using a mouse rather than a touchscreen, so perhaps that is to blame for the difference, but more likely I guess it's fixed in F33?
P.S. That's not caribou anymore. The screen keyboard is actually built into gnome-shell nowadays.

The subject says "Fedora 34". So if it's different because of that, it's not that 33 fixed it compared to what Marius is seeing, but current Rawhide GNOME has it broken compared to what you're seeing...

rawhide Gnome is different. You don't even get a screensafer without GDM and the pinephone needs LightDM for now, because of the phone unlock screen. I really hope that gnome devs build one fast.
Still, question is who is to blame, gnome for not keeping the keyboard onfront, or pk, because it's the front most window. From the security point of view, only gnome can fix this reliable. the auth requester needs to be THE frontmost window of them all, so no app can grab the inputs from it. But without a keyboard, the virtual one needs to be the frontmost. As i wrote, a pitty.
BTW: whats the actual gnome bugzilla?

Bug reported at gnome:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/3457
What makes me worry a bit is, that they have 1.210 issues open.
