upgrading t4 -> rc2, chose new bootloader, grub.
Here's the new grub.conf:
cat grub.conf # grub.conf generated by anaconda # # Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file # NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that # all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg. # root (hd0,0) # kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/sda5 # initrd /initrd-version.img #boot=/dev/sda default=0 timeout=5 splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz hiddenmenu title Fedora (2.6.21-1.3190.fc7) root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.21-1.3190.fc7 ro root=/dev/sda5 title Fedora-base (2.6.21-1.3194.fc7) root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.21-1.3194.fc7 ro root=LABEL=/ initrd /initrd-2.6.21-1.3194.fc7.img title Other rootnoverify (hd0,1) chainloader +1
3190 was the t4 kernel. And vmlinuz-2.6.21-1.3190.fc7 has been removed. So on reboot, you get a file not found error for the default boot kernel.
fedora-base does boot.

So far this only seems to happen with upgrades from F7t4 or the Fedora 7 Summit Preview DVD (which was somewhere between t3 and t4, IIRC). Shouldn't be an issue for those upgrading from FC6.

It is a issue on upgrading from fc6, with p4 processor, may have to do with selecting new bootloader in the installation rather than the existing one. It builds grub.conf before removing old kernels(guessing).
