Hello Stephen,
syslog-ng has shown up in Fedora Extras, so testing out that package
does certainly help. Given the long history of the current syslog
package, I am not sure if/when a good point for that will come.

Cool. I missed that package addition, and will go test it. We have
found this really helps our FISMA requirements and may help
organizations that need to document for HIPAA etc that they are indeed
not losing data.
