"I'll do it anyway" flippancy especially from long time contributors is not going to encourage ex-Core package maintainers to want to add others to the ACL/co-maintainers lists for the packages they own. Than should retain a certain level of respect and I support his decision in this case.
The way Than has not participated makes him more a co-maintainer than maintainer. in all honesty he is lucky to have any access to the kde packages at all right now. We had to drag him kicking and screaming to work with the community. Right now i'm willing to have him removed from all Fedora KDE access.
Yeah, this kind of talk is sure to close doors for community participation in maintenance of core packages. Last I looked, hostile takeovers of packages were not part of the accepted norms in Fedora.
