Removed all downloaded packages, found a couple rpm macro files that we moved out of the way, did 'yum clean all' and now it seems to be running ok.

Spoke too soon. The exception's back. Right at the end when it says "Downloading installer metadata". Anyone know why this is happening?

We are trying to preupgrade some F7 and F8 machines which we've been doing the past few weeks. But now all these preupgrades hit this exception for F7 and F8. I'm assuming some path has changed on the repo. How can we get these going again?
Sorry to hear of your problems but this is not a support list, as you will have noticed when you subscribed.

You can prevent these kind of problems by upgrading before a product reaches the end of its life. I would suggest asking in #fedora on IRC.
