Orphaning my NodeJS packages
by Ben Beasley
I am orphaning the following packages that contain a NodeJS “production”
dependency bundle:
- fkill-cli
- fx (along with fx-completion, which depends on it)
- nodejs-svgo
- npm-name-cli
- topojson-client
- topojson-server
- topojson-simplify
Considering recent and ongoing discussion over the viability and proper
application of the NodeJS packaging guidelines, I have concluded that it
is not practical to maintain typical NodeJS utilities in an
uncontroversial way.

License changes in rust-num_enum(_derive) 0.5.5
by Fabio Valentini
Hi all,
Let it be known that starting with version 0.5.5 of the rust-num_enum
and rust-num_enum_derive packages, their license will be "BSD or MIT
or ASL 2.0", whereas it was just "BSD" before. Since this change just
adds more choices, I do not expect it to cause problems.

[SONAME BUMP] capnproto 0.9.1
by Neal Gompa
Hey all,
capnproto 0.9.1 has been pushed into Rawhide, and with it, a soname
bump from 0.8.0 to 0.9.1 has occurred.
Based on the repoquery, only three packages are dependent on it:
* mir (drops dependency with 2.6.0 update I'm working on)
* rr
* sonic-visualiser
I'm taking care of the rebuilds in a side-tag and will merge them into
Rawhide once they're done.

Orphaning Siril
by Mattia Verga
Hello folks,
as I previously announced [1] in the astronomy mailing list, I've
decided to orphan Siril and focus my spare time on other things, as I'm
already only using the flatpak provided by Flathub (which comes with all
the codecs needed to get all program functionalities).
If anyone is interested in continue maintaining an RPM version, I would
suggest to do that in rpmfusion, so they can compile Siril with at least
ffmpeg support.
Have happy festive times
Mattia

Packaging pgAdmin4
by Sandro Mani
Hi
I gave it a go at packaging pgadmin4 [1], to replace the current
obsolete and abandoned (and crashy) pgadmin3.
pgadmin4 is a mix of Python/Flask for serverside and HTML/JS for client
side, for which I wrote a minimal Qt5WebEngineView wrapper to make it
appear like a desktop application. The spec is here: [2]
I have a couple of questions to eventually be able to put it up for review:
- The client side uses node/package.json to build static assets.
Currently I have this in the spec
# git clonehttps://github.com/postgres/pgadmin4.git
# cd pgadmin4/web
# yarn install
# find node_modules/webpack/lib/ -type f -exec sed -i 's|md4|sha256|g' {} \;
# yarn run bundle
# cd ..
# tar cfJ pgadmin4-static-js-generated-$(git rev-parse --short=7 HEAD).tar.xz web/pgadmin/static/js/generated/
Source1: %{name}-static-js-generated-%{shortcommit}.tar.xz
Is this in any way acceptable? Is this compatible with "You can provide a package that uses nodejs, but you should bundle all the nodejs libraries that are needed."[3]
- I install the actual pgadmin4 files /usr/lib/pgadmin4/ and then install my custom qt wrapper to %{_bindir} which then internally invokes "python3 /usr/lib/pgadmin4/pgadmin4.py". Is /usr/lib/pgadmin4/ an appropriate directory for this?
- I currently have to manually specify the requires, which I can generate using
python3 /usr/lib/rpm/redhat/pyproject_buildrequires.py -N requirements.txt 2>/dev/null | awk '{print "Requires: "$0}'
Is there a way to automatically generate the runtime Requires, similar to the buildtime BuildRequires?
Thanks
Sandro

Non-responsive maintainer check for Eric Smith (brouhaha)
by Dominik 'Rathann' Mierzejewski
Hi,
This is a non-responsive maintainer check for Eric Smith (brouhaha).
I've been maintaining solaar for over two years now. It was maintained
by tibbs before. I asked the original maintainer, Eric Smith to change
the default bugzilla assignee to myself several times in the past. The
last time was on September 13th this year. There was no response.
I've just filed the required Non-responsive maintainer check bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2034199
Does anyone know how to contact Eric? Direct email and bug reports have had
no response.
Thanks and regards,
Dominik
