Blocking unblocked retired packages
by Till Maas
Hi,
I blocked the following packages that were retired in pkgdb but not
blocked in koji (there might be some packages included that have been
retired recently where rel-eng tickets were filed):
acheck
acheck-rules
animorph
bsd-mailx
c-ares19
cdi-api11
clearlooks-phenix-theme
climm
detex
emerillon
gnome-shell-extension-noripple
gnome-shell-extension-workspacesmenu
gpp4
guiloader-c++
hardinfo
ibus-panel-extensions
icc_examin
makehuman
metapost-metauml
mhgui
nemo-open-terminal
nodejs-tobi-cookie
perl-Bio-SamTools
php-pecl-zendopcache
PythonCAD
python-nova-adminclient
python-testosterone
repsurgeon
rhevsh
tetex-IEEEtran
xmltex
I also temporarily blocked the following packages but then run a
dependency check and noticed that a lot of packages depend on these
retired packages. The dependency check is not complete, because
too many packages are affected. I did not yet Bcc all maintainers, since
this affects too many maintainers as well.

Thanks for you quick reply, unfortunately the replot function is defined
nowhere. Possibly the author had started to look at the issue but never
finished, since I guess that the comment "if Expose events are to regen
the display, comment out these references to backing store" above assume
the replot function is used. (My blind attempt at commenting the
references to backing store as hinted did not magically fix the problem,
as probably was to be expected).
Adding here to what Alexander answered: this is a good point, I hadn't
thought of that since I was running the program on an Xfce desktop
without compositing...

IMPORTANT, please read: Spins QA signoff for milestones
by Kevin Fenzi
Per:
https://fedorahosted.org/fesco/ticket/1171
I have added a set of cols to the spins page for f20:
https://fedoraproject.org/w/index.php?title=Releases%2F20%2FSpins&diff=35...
One each for "Alpha" "Beta" and "Final"
kde and desktop are release blocking so they will always be shipped, so
I put 'yes' for them for all milestones.
Please update this table when/if you test a TC/RC version of a spin for
a milestone. I'll also try and go update it based on other tests in
the wiki as we go on. I updated Xfce Alpha as I tested TC4 with it (and
intend to test rc's as well).
It's important to keep this up to date so we know what spins to ship
for a milestone. If you are a spin owner and don't have time to test,
please try and line up some folks to test for you.
You will need at least one person to test or your spin will not be
shipped for that milestone.
Thanks,
kevin

Release Ownership for oyranos
by Nicolas Chauvet
Hi,
I've released ownership for oyranos which currently FTBFS in f20.
I will not have time to fix in the f20 time frame, so it might be blocked
or even retired if none volunteer to maintain it.
There will be a need to update elektra first, then if one in interested in
this package, libXcm and xcm are also of interested. I can keep theses for
the moment.
Thx

Self Introduction
by Michael Hampton
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi everyone,
I'm Michael Hampton. I've been using Fedora for its entire existence, and Red Hat Commercial Linux before that, starting around 3.0.3 or so. Until now, though, I've never really had a good opportunity to contribute back, aside from the occasional bug report.
I've been a system administrator for many years, working for myself and clients of my choice. I am perhaps most obviously visible as a community moderator of Server Fault, a site in the Stack Exchange network. http://serverfault.com/users/126632
I do drop in on Freenode on occasion, but since my nick is io_error I am often confused with a famous individual, and as a result I don't spend much time there.
I am doing some work with Windows Azure, and I need to run Fedora on it. While the kernel contains all the necessary drivers, the Linux agent software that Microsoft provides, and which Linux VMs need to be provisioned properly on Azure, isn't packaged for Fedora. I intend to change that, and I have submitted a review request for my packaging of the agent. Since I haven't officially packaged for Fedora before, I need a sponsor.
The review request can be found at: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1006116 I would appreciate your comments and, if you can, your sponsorship.
Ultimately I want to look at automating cloud image builds of Fedora for Windows Azure similarly to the way it is done for Amazon EC2, and I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can tell me more about how Fedora currently does this.
Thanks for reading,

separation emacs-common into more packages

Hi folks,
I would like to separate emacs-common into more packages (in rawhide
currently).
emacs-common contains all lisp files, info and man pages
Do you think that it is a good idea to separate them into groups like
emacs-org (directory /usr/share/emacs/24.3/lisp/org)
emacs-progmodes (directory /usr/share/emacs/24.3/lisp/progmodes)

What do you thing emacs users?
