--disable-dependency-tracking
by Neal Becker
I just tried
rpmbuild -ba blah.spec
and got
configure: error: unrecognized options: --disable-dependency-tracking
I see
/var/lib/rpm/redhat/macros:
%configure \
...
--disable-dependency-tracking \\\
So maybe I need to add
autoreconf --force
before
%configure
to regenerate configure for new option.
Nope. Still same error.
Any ideas?

v4l1 (linux/videodev.h) and libv4l
by Kevin Kofler
Hi,
several of the build failures in Rawhide are due to the removal of v4l1 from
the kernel, which manifests itself as a missing <linux/videodev.h> header.
(I think there was a thread about that on this list already, but I can't
find it now.)
My questions:
* Couldn't v4l1-only apps be made to work with minimal porting effort
through libv4l's libv4l1compat, without v4l1 support in the kernel?
* libv4l's libv4l1compat itself also fails to build due to a missing
<linux/videodev.h>. It obviously needs the #defines there to emulate the
API. Should libv4l ship that header now?
* It's quite embarassing to have libv4l be one of the packages failing to
build due to a kernel v4l change. Why wasn't this change coordinated with
libv4l?

Preferred & Startup applications gone?
by Paul F. Johnson
Hi,
Using the current spin on rawhide but seem to have lost where I set the
startup applications and preferred apps up from. The used to be under
Preferences but seem to have vanished.
Any idea what I need to re-install to get it back. There is nothing
under System Settings which lets me do this.

[Test-Announce] GNOME 3 Test Day #1 recap
by Adam Williamson
The first GNOME 3 Test Day took place on 2011-02-03 and went very well,
thanks
a lot to everyone who took the time to help out with testing!
Just preparing images for the test day exposed some important bugs to
be fixed,
and the event itself exposed many more. We had 56 tests run by slightly
fewer
testers (many thanks to those who tested multiple machines!) and the
list of
reported bugs looks like this:

Many of these bugs could benefit from triage, so if Bugzappers have
time to
work on that, it would be great. As you can see, several bugs have
already
been fixed, and many more remain to be worked on.
We have some other bits of analysis to do, particularly about which
systems hit the fallback path and how it worked for those systems,
which I'll work on later. For now, thanks again to everyone who came
to test, and to the desktop team for all their hard work helping
prepare the stack for testing and helping out on the Test Day.

Updating SSL keys on fedorahosted.org
by Stephen John Smoogen
Various SSL keys are aging out so we will be updating them before anyone
gets a <This CERT is not valid.> page.
The first server to be updated will be fedorahosted.org.
The old certificate came from Equifax, was a 1024 bit key and had the
fingerprint:
SHA1 Fingerprint=CC:64:67:BE:90:50:79:ED:23:E8:C1:18:02:AB:AC:83:88:FC:6C:D8
The new certificate is issued by GeoTrust, Inc and is a 4096 bit key
with the fingerprint:
SHA1 Fingerprint=D1:54:82:77:77:F9:11:DF:E0:B1:14:37:B9:36:E2:09:20:B6:54:1D
Please report any problems with these certificates to
