Broken deps from rawhide
by Jesse Keating
Ahem... Disregard the broken deps mail you may get from today's
rawhide. Something in our attempted change seems to have produced bunk
repodata, so there is a lot "missing". We'll be working to fix it up.
Welcome to rawhide (:

Usage of %{__macros} in our .specs?
by Martin Sourada
Hi all,
I've been told, by an upstream developer of one of the packages I
maintain, that I/we should use e.g. %{__make} instead of make in
our .spec files in order to have our packages more compatible/portable.
As I understand it, if I use make, whatever make is find in the $PATH of
the user the package is build under, it will be used, however if I use
%{__make} /usr/bin/make (as per 'rpmbuild --showrc" output) will be used
regardless of what environment path I've set. It's similar for other
macros like %{__rm}, %{__sed}, %{__mv} or %{__cp}, %{__ln_s} or
%{__mkdir_p} to name a few.
I haven't found any guideline regarding this and our packages seem to
wary in the way they use it. Should there be any guideline or
recommendation created for it? What do others think about it?
Thanks,
Martin

FYI - no rawhide today (yet)
by Bill Nottingham
Changes to help optimize the compose process ran into some issues, so
there's no tree as of yet. There may be one later; if not, tomorrow.

Outage Notification - 2008-12-17 17:00 UTC
by Mike McGrath
There will be an outage starting at 2008-12-17 17:00 UTC, which will last
approximately 4 hours.
To convert UTC to your local time, take a look at

or run:

Ticket Link:
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/1064
Reason for Outage:
Part of the outage earlier this week involved moving our primary koji database to a temporary location. Now that the machine has been repaired its time to move it back. In order to keep downtime to a minimum and not interrupt the latest compose I'm scheduling this outage for a 4 hour window though it should only actually be down for an hour. As soon as the compose finishes I'll start.

Please join #fedora-admin in irc.freenode.net or respond to this email to track
the status of this outage.

Build problem with kernel header
by Tim Niemueller
Hi Fedora.
I'm trying to build the player package. It bails out with the following
error message:
bin/sh ../../../libtool --tag=CXX --mode=compile g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H
-I. -I../../.. -I../../../libplayercore
-I../../../client_libs/libplayerc++ -I../../../client_libs/libplayerc

On my local (F-10) system I do not see any reference to __u32 in
serial.h, likewise this type is not used in the sicklms200.cc file. Any
idea what is causing this? I do not have a rawhide system at hand, so I
couldn't verify kernel-headers-2.6.28-0.129.rc8.git2.fc11 that is
mentioned in root.log.
Regards from Aachen,
Tim

xchm orphaned
by Patrice Dumas
Hello,
I missed xchm... I orphaned the devel, F9 and F10 branches, I keep
the EPEL branches. Manuel Wolfshant is already co-maintainer, but I am
sure that he won't mind some help.
It is a low maintainance package.
I hope I didn't forgot more packages...

License Addition: Deluge (CC-BY-SA Tango images)
by Peter Gordon
Hi, all.
I just committed a version bump to the devel branch for Deluge 1.0.6
(with an F-10 sync on my TODO list for tomorrow) which includes some
images from the Tango project in the directory
"deluge/ui/webui/static/images/tango" of the unpacked tarball. (These
are installed to their final destination of the same directory tree
under %python_sitearch during the build process.) These images are under
the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license, version 2.5.
The rest of the package is unchanged in terms of licensing; this is
merely an *addition* to the licenses for its data.
Please feel free to yell or scream, etc., if any issues arise because of
this. :)
Thanks and Regards.
