Re: FC6 x86_64 Custom RPMS
by Nana Kofi Asumadu
This is not meant to be a another repo. I have been building my own custom rpms since FC2. I am only making the link avaliable for anyone who cares to use them.
I have no intention of setting up another repo. I couldn't even afford the time to even if I wanted to.
If you find the packages, useful, use them. If not, who cares?

Request for git-core rebuild
by Jay Cliburn
I'm not sure if I'm asking the right question, but I've got a dependency
problem with curl and git-core that I can't get past, and I think it
could be resolved by rebuilding git-core (in extras).
What's the right way to go about asking for a package rebuild? Or, if
I'm not asking the right question, please correct me.
Thanks,
Jay

600X (V) Video Issues
by Chris Schumann
I've got a ThinkPad 600X with FC6 installed. Video mostly works.
The video chip is the NeoMagic MagicGraph 256ZX (NM2360) with 4MB VRAM.
First: The Gnome task bars display garbage when I set them to any level of
transparency. They work fine when solid. FC5 did not have this issue.
Second: After a suspend/resume, the consoles are garbled. It's as if there's
a loose video cable, but weirder. FC5 did exhibit this problem. I can post a
picture if it will help.
Tips and pointers on who to talk to or what to fix are most appreciated.
Many thanks,
Chris Schumann

compiz window settings
by Chris Jones
Hi,
I tried this question on the main fedora list, but with no response, so I'm
hoping the more techy people here can help me :)
I want to try and control which windows compiz includes in some of its visual
effects, such as the scale and switcher plugins.
Looking with gconf-editor I see that these plugins have a list of the window
types they will include. However, I have no idea how different application
windows get assigned to one of these types ? Could someone point me to where
these sort of things get set up ?
cheers Chris

Re: FC6 x86_64 Custom RPMS
by Nana Kofi Asumadu
Firstly, most of these packages are packages that Fedora/Redhat refuses to include in either main stream or extra because of possible patent/legal issue ( which I completely understand).
Secondly, most of the patches applied are either in their respective cvs/svn or have been submitted for consideration for inclusion into the next new release.
I find most of these packages useful and again, I completely understand Fedora/Redhat's stand on these. I merely provided the link for anyone else who may find them useful regardless of any political or individualistic view about these software.
PS: Some of these packages are in Extra but have had bits are pieces removed, again, due to possible patent issue.
