Thanks for your help, I downloaded glibc and glibc-common and installed
from cd... it seems to be letting me in now.
Am doing another yum up to dev to see if any other problems pop up.

Hi,
Just to let you know some things maybe issues...
When I tried to yum upto dev it complained about perl, xchat, foomatic
So I excluded them from the update, once the update was done, X will not
run and I get glic detected if I try to login on a shell using runlevel
3... Is there any fix I can do or should I rebuild my machine...? it a
amd64.
