Just a heads up for those who have been unable to run the x86_64 kernel rpms from the FC2 development tree on K8T800 motherboards without reconfiguring...2.6.0-1.30.x86_64 boots as built...ie with CONFIG_DEBUG_SLAB=y. No oopses and the K8V's onboard 3c940 is running fine with the sk98lin driver. The boot log is clean and the only thing that shows up in the syslog are a couple messages about SELinux. ACPI is even turned on and it seems to be happy with the APIC too.
This system is pretty vanilla...Athlon64 3200+,1 Gb, 2 PATA drives and a CD-R/W on the std VIA IDE controller and an ATI 9000 AGPcard. However, the VIA SATA (not the Promise, but the one on the southbridge) controller is turned on and showing up as IDE channels 2 and 3 according to the log. Knowing that this would be of interest to some folks, I hung a SATA to PATA bridge on an old 20 gb drive and lo and behold, it is mountable and seems quite functional also, which might be encouraging to some folks. I'm not booting from it tho so YMMV. Kudzu also finds the (generic) Promise controller when enabled in bios so good things might happen there to.
