And I didn't see anyone disagree. You do, however, seem to be advocating "fancy" quotes over ", which still sees far more usage (and which everyone knows how to type).
I wrote that if you wanted fancy quotes displayed you had to type fancy quotes in your text, yes (not accents, primes, or something else that looks similar but isn't).
