just the most arcane of the three major DVCS'es, even programmers have
trouble with it.
If you want to involve non-programmers in collaborative editing, your
best bet is IMHO something like a Wiki or a Etherpad.
Speaking of which, Bitbucket's (and, I suppose, Github's) Wikis are
backed by a DVCS repo...
