Hi Martijn,
I'm hacking away on this myself. Building the package it pretty
straight forward - infact there is a debian directory in the source
checkout i have which i can use to build the package.
The only issue i'm running into right now is how cobbler detects it's
OS. Specifically in utils.py there is a function to detect os_release
which does not work with ubuntu. unfortunatly i have not had any time
to patch this yet :(
How about preferencing /etc/lsb-release if it exists or falling back
to one of these if they exist:
- /etc/redhat-release
- /etc/debian_version
- /etc/SuSE-release
It isn't perfect but doesn't seem like a hack and would get the job
90% done for you. Should be a mostly trivial patch in quickly glancing
at it.
have you had a chance to try to build the package yet? i can let
you
know what steps i went through to get the .deb if you want.
