Quoting Alex Wood (awood(a)redhat.com):
We're happy to announce that Cobbler 2.0.2 is now in Fedora
testing. We
had originally scheduled this release for late November but ran into a
few logistical problems actually getting the package out to Fedora.
The package will move into Fedora stable in a week or so assuming no one
encounters any major bugs.
It has been a rather couple of busy days, finally getting cobbler
upgraded from 1.6.6 to 2.0.1 and then 2.0.2 because of the
aggravation surrounding parent profiles. I am not sure what I think
of the new WebUI yet, but...
I may have found a halfway major bug. :((
I don't know how wide spreat it is, but when I go into the WebUI and
try to add a profile (Profiles->Create new profile), I get a
traceback. At first, I thought it might be because my server on which
my cobbler server runs is still running FC8 (because of the *CENSORED*
paravirt_ops BS which make me want to have the atypical reaction of
wanting to force some heads to demonstrate the Pauli exclusion
principle). But taking another machine which was freshly loaded with
a fully patched FC11 (and was to be loaded with FC12 as soon as I got
through this mess) and building/installing things there, and
reproducing it with the same config files, I am not so sure. I am
attaching the traceback from the FC11 install, and have saved a copy
of the page with the local variables expanded if somebody wants that.
And if you have any more questions, I have backups of my environment
Also, I will say that this interface appears to be a huge step back in
one way... it appears that I am forced to go to the CLI to change the
parent profile of sub-profiles, which is a fairly common operation for
me. I routinely bounce back and forth between parent profiles with a
subprofile which overrides the kickstart and kernel options, along
with other values (say changing a profile from something based on FC10
to something based on FC11, or even Centos 5), and the WebUI is
generally more convenient (odd coming from a person who prefers CLIs).
