Hey Dusty!
Thanks for Linking to Major's blog! Super helpful, but it does appear
to be a regression of some sort in cloud-init, seeing as how it used
to work on F28 and these exact symptoms were fixed in rawhide at some
point and cloud-init itself purports to support GCE.
But yeah, plug me into support it on GCP. I've been working a lot
with it recently, and I think given the upcoming OKD support on FCOS
(and hopefully Fedora proper if I have my way), we'll need tooling
there anyway. I'm willing to try to take on some of that.

Unfortunately we don't currently offer images for GCE. If you're interested in
helping
out with that effort let me know and we can try to get some people together.
