I have been using Fedora on the desktop for three years. I am taking
the first steps on embedded Linux. The task at hand is to evaluate it
on a specific platform, the BeagleBone.
Per the Fedora ARM wiki page, BeagleBone is not supported on F18. I
found a page that shows how to put F14 on BeagleBone.
Has anybody managed to load F17/F18 on BeagleBone, and if so, how tricky is it?
For the bootloader, just grab mainline u-boot v2013.01.. (build:
am335x_evm_config)
For the kernel, mmc support is not in v3.8-rc4, (should hit v3.9-rc's..)
So use the 3.8
bealeboard.org community kernel:
https://github.com/beagleboard/kernel/tree/3.8
afterwards it should boot to serial console on the beaglebone..
